A Straight Answer on Speed
The Fortress modem is rated by Qualcomm for up to 2.5 Gbps download in ideal lab conditions. Nobody gets that in a field. Real-world throughput depends on your carrier, your distance from the tower, and how busy that tower is — the same variables that govern every cellular device. What the Fortress does better than an indoor router is hold a usable signal where an indoor router gets none, using external high-gain antennas mounted where the signal actually is.
